Introduction

VerseRP ("Verse", "we", "our", or "us") is a character-driven AI messaging platform that allows users to create, discover, and interact with AI-generated characters.

We believe privacy should be simple: your conversations belong to you.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you regarding your information. By accessing or using Verse, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Philosophy

Verse is built around a simple principle: your conversations belong to you.

We do not sell user conversations, and we do not license user conversations to third parties for their own AI training purposes.

To provide the Service, Verse uses a combination of infrastructure operated by Verse and third-party service providers, including for AI response generation, conversation memory and continuity, translation, and content moderation. Content sent to a third-party provider for these purposes is handled under that provider's own data terms, which may differ from this Policy, and Verse cannot control or guarantee how a third-party provider handles data on its own systems.

Certain content may be reviewed by automated moderation systems, including third-party moderation services, to help maintain platform safety. These systems may be applied to content such as uploaded images, public profiles, community content, and character or persona information intended for publication on the platform.

While we work to protect user privacy, authorized administrators may access content when reasonably necessary to provide support, investigate abuse, protect platform security, comply with legal obligations, or enforce platform policies.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Verse account, we may collect:

Passwords are not stored in plain text by Verse.

Profile Information

Users may voluntarily provide additional profile information, including biography/profile description, pronouns, profile images, profile banners, customization preferences, and other optional account information. Certain profile information may be publicly visible depending on your privacy settings.

Character Content

Verse stores content users create on the platform, including character names, descriptions, personalities, scenarios, greetings, profile images, settings, visibility preferences, and metadata.

Public characters may be visible to other authenticated users of Verse. Private characters are intended to remain visible only to their owner and systems necessary to operate the service.

Conversation Data

Verse stores conversation data necessary to provide the service, including user messages, AI-generated messages, conversation history, chat metadata, timestamps, and participant identifiers.

Private conversations are not publicly visible and are not shared with advertisers. Verse does not use private conversations to train its own AI models.

Memory Data

Verse may generate and store memory summaries or contextual information derived from conversations to improve continuity and consistency.

Community Content

If you participate in community features, Verse may collect and store posts, comments, replies, likes, reactions, reports, and moderation actions.

Images and Media

Users may upload media such as profile pictures, banners, character images, persona images, and other supported uploads. Uploaded content may be reviewed by automated safety systems.

Technical Information

When you use Verse, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including IP address, browser/device information, OS, request and error logs, security logs, and performance metrics.

How We Use Information

We use collected information to provide and secure the service: account/authentication, AI conversations, memory systems, character/community features, subscriptions, abuse/fraud prevention, support, reliability improvements, and legal compliance.

Verse does not use private conversation data to train its own AI models.

How AI Processing Works

To generate responses, the system may use recent messages, character definitions/settings, stored memory summaries, user preferences, and conversation context.

Response generation and memory processing may be performed using infrastructure operated by Verse or by third-party AI service providers, depending on the model or feature involved. Content sent to a third-party provider for this purpose is handled under that provider's own data terms.

Public and Private Content

Private content is intended to be visible only to the owner, authorized participants, required systems, and authorized administrators when necessary for operational/safety/security/legal reasons.

Public content may be visible to other authenticated users (e.g., public profiles, public characters, community posts/comments). Users are responsible for what they publish.

Administrator Access

Private conversations are not publicly visible and are not routinely monitored. Authorized administrators may access user content when reasonably necessary for support, abuse investigations, policy enforcement, security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and platform integrity.

How We Share Information

Verse does not sell personal information, conversations, profiles, or account data. Limited sharing may occur with trusted service providers - including providers that support AI response generation, memory and continuity, translation, and content moderation - as well as for legal requirements or business transfers as permitted by law.

Subscription and Payment Information

Verse Ultra Checkout is operated by Link as merchant of record using Stripe's payment infrastructure. Link and Stripe process payment details, tax, fraud, disputes, receipts, and payment support. Verse does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

To operate the subscription, Verse and Link/Stripe exchange the minimum information needed for the purchase: account and billing identifiers, email when provided, selected plan, subscription state, and transaction or invoice references. We retain verified billing webhook payloads for up to 90 days for reconciliation and security, then purge them. We retain only the minimal anonymized financial records required after an account is deleted.

Buy Me a Coffee support is a separate voluntary service and is governed by Buy Me a Coffee's own payment and privacy terms. It does not create a Verse Ultra subscription.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Verse retains information as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Retention varies by data type.

If you have Verse Ultra, you must cancel it first. Account deletion is completed after the paid or trial access period ends. Verse then removes or anonymizes user-owned application data, with limited retention where necessary for integrity, safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and backups.

Security

Verse uses reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect user information, including encrypted connections, authentication/access controls, monitoring, abuse detection, and security practices.

User Rights and Controls

Depending on jurisdiction, users may have rights to access, update, correct, delete, and manage visibility settings for their information and content, subject to verification and applicable legal limits.

Children's Privacy

Verse is not directed toward young children. Users must satisfy applicable minimum age requirements.

International Users

Verse may process/store/transfer information in multiple jurisdictions where Verse or its service providers operate.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Verse may update this policy from time to time. Continued use after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
