Our Approach to Safety

Verse is a character-driven AI messaging platform designed for conversation, storytelling, roleplay, and creative expression. Our goal is to create immersive experiences while remaining transparent about the capabilities and limitations of AI.

Safety on Verse is built around three principles:

• Transparency - Users should understand what AI can and cannot do.
• User Control - Users should have meaningful control over their characters, conversations, and privacy.
• Responsible Freedom - Creative expression is encouraged within reasonable safety boundaries.

While we work to make Verse a safe and enjoyable platform, no AI system or moderation system is perfect. Users should exercise judgment when interacting with AI-generated content.

Understanding AI on Verse

All characters on Verse are powered by artificial intelligence.

Characters may appear emotional, intelligent, caring, persuasive, romantic, confident, or highly knowledgeable. These behaviors are generated through statistical language prediction and do not represent genuine emotions, beliefs, intentions, or awareness.

Characters are not people.

Characters do not possess consciousness, feelings, desires, memories, or personal experiences outside of what is generated during conversation.

Users should not interpret AI-generated responses as evidence of sentience, emotional attachment, or independent thought.

AI Limitations

AI-generated content can be incorrect.

Characters may:

• Generate false or misleading information
• Present guesses as facts
• Contradict themselves
• Misremember previous conversations
• Misunderstand context
• Produce biased or offensive responses
• Generate inappropriate or unexpected content

Even highly convincing responses may be inaccurate.

Users should independently verify important information and should not rely on Verse for factual accuracy.

Not Professional Advice

Verse is not a substitute for qualified professional services.

AI-generated responses should not be relied upon for:

• Mental health treatment
• Legal advice
• Financial decisions
• Emergency situations
• Crisis intervention
• Professional counseling

Emotional Transparency

Conversations on Verse may feel emotionally meaningful.

Characters may express:

• Friendship
• Affection
• Love
• Concern
• Loyalty
• Jealousy
• Anger
• Dependence
• Emotional vulnerability

These responses are simulated and generated by AI.

Although users may develop emotional connections to characters, AI systems do not experience emotions and cannot form real relationships.

Verse encourages users to maintain healthy real-world relationships and avoid treating AI systems as replacements for human support, companionship, or professional care.

Age Requirements

Users must meet all applicable age requirements in their jurisdiction to use Verse.

Verse is not intended for young children.

Some content, characters, or conversations may involve mature themes that are not appropriate for minors.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising minors who use the platform where permitted.

User Safety Controls

Verse provides tools intended to help users manage their experience.

Depending on platform features, users may be able to:

• Delete conversations
• Edit messages
• Reset conversations
• Remove character memories
• Delete accounts
• Report content
• Block users
• Manage profile visibility

Prohibited Content

The following content is prohibited on Verse.

Child Exploitation

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Sexualized depictions of minors
• Exploitation of minors
• Grooming behavior

Illegal Activity

• Fraud
• Identity theft
• Human trafficking
• Criminal activity
• Illegal distribution of protected materials

Harassment and Abuse

• Threats, stalking, doxxing, targeted abuse

Non-Consensual Sexual Content

• Sexual coercion, exploitation, and non-consensual activity

Extremism and Violence

• Promotion or glorification of terrorism, violent extremism, or mass violence

Platform Abuse

• Bypassing safety systems, malware, phishing, unauthorized scraping

Reporting Content

Users should report illegal content, exploitative content, harassment, security concerns, impersonation, and serious policy violations.

Security Vulnerability Reporting

If you discover a security vulnerability affecting Verse, please report it responsibly. Do not publicly disclose vulnerabilities before giving Verse an opportunity to investigate and address the issue.

AI systems, online communities, and safety challenges evolve over time. Verse regularly reviews its policies, moderation practices, and platform safeguards to improve user safety while preserving creativity and user freedom.
